Invisalign: Straight Teeth. No Metal Braces.

Invisalign tray There are millions of adults around the country who would love to have their crooked, crowded, or gapped teeth straightened, but they have one big problem. They simply can’t imagine going to work every day and spending time with their friends with bulky metal braces on their teeth. They’re afraid it will make them look immature and no one will take them seriously in addition to being extremely uncomfortable. So like many, they simply live with their compromised smile for years.

Does this sound like you?

If so, Invisalign in Clayton can give you the smile solution you’ve been looking for. With it, Dr. Steve Dedrickson can straighten your smile in the most discreet, comfortable, and effective way possible without using metal braces.

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign is a revolutionary orthodontic treatment that completely does away with the traditional wire and bracket system. Rather, it uses a series of custom-designed clear plastic aligner trays to gently and efficiently straighten the teeth. All a patient has to do is wear a single set of trays (one for the top and bottom teeth) for about 2 weeks for 22 hours a day, and after they have gone through the entire series, their smile should be perfectly straight.

Now, you don’t have to feel like your only choices are either a crooked smile or a mouthful of metal.

Why Patients Love Invisalign

More and more adults are choosing to straighten their teeth with Invisalign because it offers a multitude of benefits you simply can’t get with braces:

Is Invisalign Right for Me?

If you’re looking to get a straighter smile without the mouthful of metal, then Invisalign is the treatment for you. If you have any other oral health issues, such as cavities or gum disease, those will need to be addressed before your treatment can begin. We also don’t offer Invisalign for child patients because the bones in their mouth and jaw are still developing. Other than that, if you’re wanting to improve the alignment of your teeth, then Invisalign will work wonderfully.

Invisalign FAQs

Every year, more and more people choose to straight their smiles with Invisalign rather than uncomfortable, awkward metal braces. With the rise in the number of people undergoing Invisalign treatment, there has been a similar increase in the number of people asking questions about some of the details. We’re happy to answer any your questions over the phone or during your appointment, but we’ve also included the answers to a few that we get asked the most often.

How Much Does Invisalign Cost?

Generally speaking, the cost of Invisalign in Clayton is comparable to the cost of traditional braces. Like braces, the price can vary significantly from patient to patient. Multiple factors have to be considered, such as the complexity of your case and how many aligners you’ll need. We can lay out all of these variables at your consultation and give you a cost estimate you can trust.

Will My Dental Insurance Cover Invisalign?

Many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign treatment to the same degree that they cover metal braces. Your insurance company might pay for a certain percentage of the treatment, or put a specific dollar amount toward it. Each plan is different, so we’ll have to take a look at yours to find out how much coverage you qualify for.

At Sevens Dental, we are in-network with Cigna and Delta Dental, two of the nation’s most popular dental insurance providers. However, even if you’re not in-network with us, we can gladly fill out your paperwork and do our best to maximize your benefits.

If you’re uninsured, don’t worry. We can help you apply for a low-interest, budget-friendly payment plan through CareCredit.

Is Invisalign Treatment Painful?

The aligners straighten your teeth by exerting a constant yet gentle force on them. Some patients experience a mild, temporary discomfort for the first few days after beginning treatment or switching to a new pair of aligners. However, they’re more likely to describe it as “pressure” rather than pain. If you experience any discomfort that lasts longer than a few days, be sure to let your dentist in Clayton know. Your treatment plan may need to be adjusted.

What Happens When I’m Done with Invisalign Treatment?

Whether you choose to wear braces or clear aligners, most dental professionals will have to wear a retainer after you’re finished with orthodontic treatment. It will take some time for your teeth to “remember” their new positions in your jaw, so wearing a retainer will prevent them from shifting back and undoing your treatment.

With Invisalign, your retainer will usually be a set of clear aligners, similar to the ones you’ve been wearing. In most cases, we’ll recommend that you wear your retainer for 22 hours a day for a certain amount of time, like a few weeks. After that, we’ll let you know when it’s okay to switch to only wearing the retainer at night.

Of course, if you’re interested in getting Invisalign, the first thing you need to do is come see your cosmetic dentist in Clayton here at Sevens Dental to begin your journey to a beautiful smile. To schedule an appointment, or get answers to your questions, please contact us today.
